Does a koi pond require a lot of maintenance? Not if it's built correctly! A pond with a properly sized biological filter and a bottom drain system usually requires only 15–20 minutes of maintenance per week (emptying skimmer baskets and a quick backwash of the filter). We also offer monthly maintenance plans if you’d prefer to just enjoy the fish.

How deep should my pond be? In the Houston heat, depth is your best friend. We recommend a minimum of 3 to 4 feet. This keeps the water temperature stable during 100°F days and provides a safe haven for your koi to hide from predators like blue herons.
